November Events in Davis County

During November in Davis County you can still enjoy the beauty of Autumn, but get excited for the holiday season and beautiful blankets of snow on our gorgeous Wasatch Mountains. There are events throughout the month, offering all kinds of activities. Get excited to see bison close up at Antelope Island State Park, try a brand new restaurant opening at Station Park and pull out the ice skates for their outdoor rink. BDAC Holiday Show & Sale

WEEK 4:

Kaysville “Lights the City”Kaysville Lights

Where: Kaysville City, Center & Main Street

What: Kaysville Stroll will have vendors and performers inviting residents to shop their holiday items and enjoy festive music. At the Old Library there will be holiday music performed by a children’s choir. At 5:50 pm Santa will arrive in style and welcome all to the city lighting. 6:00 pm the lights turn on and kick off the holidays. Immediately following the lights, Kaysville’s beloved movie theater will open its doors to the first 274 people in line to come and enjoy the movie Elf for $1. FIRST WEEKEND (NOV. 1ST – 4TH):

Working of the Bison on Antelope Island State Park

Guided Tours: 8:30am to 12:00pm & 1:00pm to 4:30pm each day
Where: Bison Corrals, Antelope Island State Park, 4528 West 1700 South, Syracuse, UT 84075

What: After rounding up the bison from the island, staff and volunteers will be working the bison through the corrals in order to check the health, vaccinate, count and sort the island’s bison. Guided tours will be given each day to give the public an up close and personal look at these amazing animals. Tours are free and do not require reservations, unless you are bringing a large group. Bring a can or box of food for the food bank and receive 20% off the entrance fee to the park.  For more information contact charityowens@utah.gov.

Gallery of Hope Fundraiser

What: Please join us for a special evening full of art, love and hope. We will showcase the work of talented local artists who have generously donated original artwork  to help support the Hope Box Theatre. Many masterpieces will be up for bid in a silent auction. All proceeds raised from this event will help provide quality improvements to upcoming shows and our facility. The mission of the Hope Box Theatre of Performing Arts is to bring hope to families that are fighting cancer. Since 2015 the Hope Box has helped over 20 families that have battled this terrible disease. Live Bison Auction on Antelope Island State Parkbison on antelope island

When: Sat., Nov. 10th, Viewing of bison at 8:00 – 9:45 a.m. Auction begins at 10:00 a.m.
Where: Bison Corrals, Antelope Island State Park, 4528 West 1700 South, Syracuse, UT 84075

What: By selling excess bison at a public auction, park staff are able to keep the herd within a number the habitat can support. Ideally, the plan calls for a herd size of about 550 bison. The revenue generated through the bison sale is used in the Wildlife and Habitat Management Program for operating costs, habitat, and bison infrastructure improvement and research. Some funds are also used toward fire protection and weed management. Click here for full details.

Veterans Celebration by Layton City
Vietnam Memorial Wall Replica

When: Sat., Nov. 10th, 11:11 am to 1 pm
Where: Layton Commons Park (Vietnam Memorial Wall Replica)

What: Layton City, the Northern Utah Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA), and the Fleet Reserve Association (FRA) will host the annual Veterans Parade. The parade, scheduled to start at 11:11am, will proceed through Layton City ending in Layton Commons Park, at Constitution Circle, just south of the newly constructed Vietnam Memorial Wall Replica. Immediately following the parade, the VVA and FRA will conduct a short ‘Veterans Honors Ceremony’ at the Vietnam Memorial Wall Replica site. The ‘Veterans Honors Ceremony’ is scheduled to start at the conclusion of the Veterans Parade, approximately 12:30pm. Click here for more info.

What: Enjoy the holiday sounds; decorate cookies and more until Santa Claus arrives at Station Park. Activities will be held in the Fountain Square with participating vendor booths. Balloon artists, caricature artist, and the Original Dickens Carolers will perform. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be arriving to their snuggly cottage in Fountain Square around 6:30 p.m courtesy of Mercedes-Benz of Farmington.
